2015 Photo Contests for Multimedia Arts School Students

Are you a multimedia arts school student looking for perfect venues to display your creativity? You’re lucky! We’ve listed two of them here. Regardless if you simply want to prove your skills or add another medal to your wall, you can try your luck in any of these contests below:

The 29th Visual Arts Competition

The Directories Philippines Corporation (DPC) and Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) have been holding the Visual Arts Competition (VAC) since 1987. The VAC is a nationwide digital photography contest for students. They hold VAC every year to revel students’ artistry.

If you are 15 to 24 years old, a current student of any accredited school in the Philippines, then you’re very much eligible to join the contest.

This year’s theme is “Past Meets Present.” The challenge is to capture images that can inspire fresh ways of seeing our country and our culture. It could be conflicting or harmonious, amusing or sublime. The top four winning pictures will grace the cover of the DPC PLDT White Pages and Yellow Pages directories.

If you’re interested, you may go to www.visualarts.ph to get the online competition packet. Contests’ prizes, rules, and guidelines are on the web site, too. You only have until February 24, 2015 to join so make sure you get your entry submitted on or before the said date.

PAGCOR National Photography Competition

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has been running its nationwide visual arts contest since 2012. The event is in line with its goal to boost tourism, culture, and the arts.

The 3rd PAGCOR National Photography Competition (PNPC) highlights the best of Filipino culture and traditions. This year’s theme is “Tatak Pinoy.”

If you want to join, you should take a photo of anything that shows positivity or describes the Filipino culture. PAGCOR will accept entries until May 15, 2015. Amateur and seasoned Filipino photographers can join the contest. Foreign nationals are welcome to join, too, if they are in the country during the contest period.

If you want to try your luck in the contest, go to www.pagcor.ph and fill out the online entry form. PAGCOR will accept entries if submitted online via its web site. The winning photos will appear on PAGCOR’s 2016 calendar.

These contests might just give you the big break you’ve been waiting for. Do you want to take part in these competitions? Show them what you’ve learned from your multimedia arts school and send your entries now!
