Grade 10 and 12 students! Now is the time to bring out the creative geniuses in you. CIIT will be launching the most prestigious art competition in our school this year, the ART IN ACTION 2019. We are on a roll to discover aspiring artists of this generation and showcase their artistry and creativity in the field of traditional and digital arts.

Art in Action 2019 is an art competition which aims to provide an avenue for Grade 10 and 12 students to showcase their artistic capabilities. This CIIT organized event is also an effort to call on young folks who dream of becoming future artists to bring their creative imaginations to life by participating in this exciting event.

Having a decade of experience in providing modern education, our school firmly believes that giving our young generation exposure to such activities is a great way to encourage them to pursue their dreams so they can experience a lifelong career in the future. Such art competition can also be a platform for the other students to discover their hidden talents and skills in the arts.

For 2019, we featured the theme “The Future of Technology” to reflect on the advent of new technologies in this season of the digital revolution. The student participants are given the freedom to express their visual interpretation of the theme in either of these two categories:

Students who would like to participate in this category should create their freehand artwork using traditional art materials. Examples of such techniques are watercolor, oil paint, crayons, charcoals, and the like. All artworks should be a product of their own imagination and an original creation based on the theme of the art competition.

Unlike the traditional arts, the Digital Art category requires the participants to create an artwork using digital technology. They can use any software program in producing a digital painting from scratch. All artworks should also reflect the provided theme of the event and must be a masterpiece of their own.

STEP 1: Interested participants should pre-register at http://bit.ly/2019ciitevents to receive a copy of the registration form. Alternatively, they can download the form from here. Then fill out the requested information.

STEP 2: Choose your preferred category and create an original artwork based on the theme, “The Future of Technology” and the following requirements:

Materials: Any traditional art materials can be used depending on the preference of the participant.
Canvas size: Minimum size of 11 x 14” and maximum size of 12 x 16” Paper Orientation: Artwork may be in portrait or landscape orientation.

Software Program: Any software program can be used depending on the preference of the participant. However, the use of stock photos and other downloaded materials are not allowed.
Output resolution: 8.5” x 11”, 300 dpi.
Paper Orientation: Artwork may be in portrait or landscape orientation.

STEP 3: Write the title of your artwork on the Registration Form

STEP 4: Submit your artworks on or before November 12, 2019

For Traditional Arts, the participants are required to submit their artworks in person at CIIT College of Arts and Technology, Interweave Building, 94 Kamuning Rd., Quezon City. Bring with you the following:

• Registration Form
• Photocopy of your latest student ID (it must have the name of your present school and indicates your current grade level)

For Digital Arts, submissions should be done online. Send a PDF format of your artwork to events@old.ciit.edu.ph. Use the filename: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_TITLEOFARTWORK (Please use capital letters only and no spaces in between the title of the artwork). Attach in your email the following:

• Registration Form
• Scanned copy of your latest student ID (it must bear the name of your present school and your current grade level)

STEP 5: You’re done! Wait until December 7, 2019, for the Awarding of Winners at the Interweave Building of CIIT College of Arts and Technology in 94 Kamuning Rd, Quezon City.
