The first ever PH.antasya Art Contest finally concluded with its much awaited awards night held last February 24, 2011 at the CIIT campus. Contestants, parents, teachers, friends and students alike attended and mingled over a sumptuous dinner and a simple proceeding. CIIT and Anino Games President Mr. Niel Dagondon welcomed the attendees. Faculty member Mr. Brian served as the guest speaker. He talked about the next steps on how students can take their passion for the arts and eventually turn it into successful and rewarding careers. This proved enlightening not only for the students but also for their parents as well who have always cast doubts on how their children can make a career out of drawing or painting.

The contest was dominated by students from Chaing Kai Shek College and Bangkal High School taking home prizes in both the Digital Arts and Traditional Arts categories. Hanna Joyce Dee won a Canon DSLR Camera along with full scholarships to CIIT and Tracey Gibson grabs the WACOM Intuos 4 Pen Tablet, as well as a full scholarships. Second place winner Ediboy Ricafrente got a brand new Ipod Touch plus half scholarships, and 3rd place winners Jon Aaron Tan and Josie Chong each won a WACOM Bamboo Pen & Touch along with half scholarships to CIIT.

Due to the success of this years’ contest despite the late release, CIIT is very much excited to announce that the contest will once again be continued, hopefully with even bigger prizes to offer, next year. Thank you to all the participants this year and congratulations to all our winners!

2nd Place: Ediboy Labajo Ricafrente for Serenity (Freehand Sketch with Pencil over Paper Canvas)
3rd Place: Josie L. Chong for Dreams of the Philippines (Mixed Medium over Paper Canvas)

PH.antasya is an art contest aimed towards the encouragement and recognition of students who have spent their time in pursuing their individual passion for arts and design. We salute these individuals for having had the persistence to study the different softwares and creative techniques in their own free time and have developed their skills to a level beyond their young age despite not being taught in most schools.
