A Special Night For Everyone
July 20, 2017 was a momentous night for CIIT’s college students. This night was the night of VINTA, the term-ending party/Awards night/student showcase. The event was held in Nix05 at the Bellagio Square, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
The event started with a message from Dean Avonn Nova. He congratulated all of the students for doing so well both in terms of academics and extracurriculars, as well as thanked the outgoing student council officers for all of their hard work. The night was filled with dance numbers from the students as well as a special performance by our librarian and all-around source of comedy, Ms. Melai Bautista. Aside from all the noisy merriment, there were also moments of calm. One of the most emotional moments of the night was when everyone paid tribute to outgoing student council president Royd Francisco.
The lights were off and everyone watched as a video showing off the outgoing student council. The video played while Royd stood on the stage. While all of this was happening, his student council officers all lined up and each of them gave him a rose. At the end of the line were three members of our faculty: Dean Avonn, Sir Jarek (who was the one who told Royd to run for president in the first place), and Ms. Melai.
The night ended with an open dance floor where students and staff (mostly Ms. Melai) were free to dance their hearts out. Congratulations to our outgoing batch of college kids and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
